Among these parishes the one called Christ Church is gifted with a beach called The Crane Beach which is rated by some authorities as one of the best ten beaches in the world. Many neon light celebrities of the celluloid world and sports personalities of renown visit this island regularly. The island has attractions for all ages. The Ocean Park is a unique amusement area where hundreds of marine fauna can be seen. Children love this colorful medley of the beautiful creatures of the sea. There is a sanctuary which gives samples of exotic avian fauna of variegated shape and color like the Scarlet Ibis, Flamingos, different types of parrots and other caged birds.


Barbados has many years of tantalizing history and the oldest parish school called the Christ Church Foundation School built in 1809 is visited by many tourists who have a sense of history.
